Goals

One of my goals for this photoshoot was to take images that genuinely looked liked it could be in a magazine. If I didn't try my hardest, then I wouldn't be proud of my work. My inspiration pictures featured lots of sky backgrounds and pastel palettes, so my goal was to incorporate those aspects into my own pictures.

Successes

I would say that one of my success of the this photoshoot was the lighting. I shot most of the images outside so the natural daylight was very flattering. Also, I love the way the backgrounds turned out. I shot the images from a lower angle and titled it upwards to get the sky. This gave a very cool effect and it flows with the pastel outfits.

Failures

A failure I had was not making the makeup and jewlery close-ups flow with the rest of the fashion images. Those images went well with each other but not as a whole. For the next photoshoot, I'm going to keep this in mind to make sure that all the images are cohesive. Another failure of mine was only shooting from the same angle. Since I wanted the sky in the background, it limited me to just one angle, but to fix this I'm going to find more creative ways to still get the kind of image I want but with more variety.

What I learned

I learned many things during this photoshoot. For example, I had to remove objects like railings or buildings from the background of my photos so I learned how to use an app that does exactly that. This made my photos more aesthetically pleasing. Additionally, I figured out how to get the sky in the background by playing around with lots of different angles and heights. When I found what worked, I used that throughout the photoshoot and will continue using it for everyday pictures.

Feedback

The majority of the feedback that I received was positive. I had put a lot of effort into the photoshoot so it was great hearing that my classmates liked my pictures. A critique I was given was to make the images more cohesive together which is something I'm for sure going to work on.
