The journey from the beginning of my cover page research to now was very informative, and everything I learned helped me to create a final cover page that I can be proud of. I used the program, Canva, to create my cover page and found the process to go very smoothly.
First Draft: Final Version:
The first draft and final version of my cover page share many similarities, but it's clear which cover page is more visually appealing. The dateline in the final version is spread out which makes it look more professional as opposed to the seemingly random placement of the dateline in the first draft. The cover lines are much bigger in the first draft which takes the focus away from the main cover line. This was fixed by lowering the text size. Instead of the text being red with a yellow outline, it was changed to yellow with a red outline. This increased its readability. The placement of the cover lines also changes. The lone cover line at the top left corner felt awkward and out of place. In my final cover page, I evenly spaced the cover lines out in all four corners, making it look more symmetrical. The puff was made to be slightly smaller so that the cover page doesn't look too busy and the bar code was replaced by a narrower one and moved to the opposite corner.
