Choosing my magazine title "In The Kitchen" was a quick decision, but deciding on the font, color, and design of it was a tedious process.
I started by searching for fonts online. The website I used is called "Fontget" and below are my top three contenders for my masthead.
"Irina Font"
"Italiana Font"
"Black Gold Font"
These fonts are sophisticated, slightly rustic, visually appealing, serif fonts that are very similar to one another. In the end, I decided to go with the first font, "Irina". This is because I really love how the letters are all in uppercase and elongated.
As for the color of my masthead, I plan on going with a deep, earthy tone if the background color is on the lighter side and white if the background is on the darker side. The exact color will depend on the main image I chose for my cover page, but below are a couple of colors I'm considering.
Now that my color palette and font choice are chosen, I decided to create two templates for my magazine cover page using images I found online.

Figuring out how my masthead will look helped me a lot in terms of visualizing my final magazine cover page. I now have a clearer idea of what I'm doing and am looking forward to using this font in my cover.
