The photos within a magazine play a major role in the mood it creates and the better the image, the more likely people are going to read it. I decided that I'm going to shoot the process and final product of making gnocchi. The images will be displayed throughout my cover page, table of contents, and the double-page spread to keep a consistent theme. To best plan for my photoshoot, I have created a shot list of 10 photos that I expect to take.
Below is my first scene. These six shots document the process of making the gnocchi. It starts by showing the ingredients and ends with the dough.
Next are Scenes 2 and 3. The second scene is similar to the dough-making scene, but this one shows the shaping and boiling of the dish. The third scene is the final product. The first shot of scene 3 includes many props to complement the plated dish whereas the second shot of the third scene is a detailed close-up of the gnocchi, which no additional props in the back so that nothing is taking away from the gnocchi in that image.
I really enjoyed creating this shot list and as the photoshoot is coming closer and closer, I am becoming a lot more comfortable with my idea and how I will execute it.
